Windows VPN does not work since I updated to windows 8.1. I was able to get other VPN clients working (Cisco, Barracuda, and sonic wall) by following the instructions on this site: I have setup Cisco VPN client (5.0.07.0290) on Windows 8 64bit and everything worked without problem. After downloaded and installed the evaluation Windows 8.1 preview update, it overwrites my network connections. I restart computer and try the client to connect and then a termination message comes up. Now the internet access is not longer working. If so, and you have the Windows Fast Startup feature enabled, you are not getting a complete system shutdown needed to complete updates to running system files for apps on your computer. If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature..
